News Update from PCSO Jason Miller |

Resident Good evening everyone, due to various complaints in recent months from local businesses and shoppers in Maidenhead town centre PCSO Miller has organised Police Operations under Safer Streets initiative. The aims of these Operations are to target criminality, anti - social behaviour, engage with our T/C retail community & shoppers + tackle anything that unfolds. Here's a few snippets from Saturday's Operation A foot chase with a male following a shop theft - a stolen Microwave was recovered, male got away within the alleyways off York Stream, but is currently wanted for other thefts.
2 suspected shoplifters were located following a shop theft, 2 bags of shopping items were seized and returned to store - A voluntary interview is to take place tomorrow.
Following a business burglary at a supermarket, a foot chase took place but the suspect managed to get away, several stolen items were recovered and returned to the store, he remains wanted for several offences.
One male was issued a community resolution, out of court disposal for cannabis use after deciding to sit next to a plain clothed officer.
Patrols took place at Kidwells and Grenfell Parks on bike and foot.
Closure order checks were conducted at 3 addresses across Maidenhead with closure orders in place to stop ASB.
1 x Have Your Say meeting was completed at Maidenhead Library, these meetings are for residents to attend and speak to police.
A number of known shoplifters were spoken to and deterred from stealing.
These Operations will take place on random days to target individuals who cause issues across the Maidenhead area, such as shopliftings, other crime and ASB. We utilise a mixture of officers on bikes, in plain clothes & visible patrols on foot. Although no arrests were made during this Operation, we were able to locate, seize and return stolen goods from all 3 reported retail related offences which took place during the day. We will catch up with the two suspects who got away on another occasion soon. We are happy to see that these Operations are making a difference, we are not seeing hardly any illegally adapted E - bikes & E -scooters being used, especially in the town centre area and there is less ASB taking place. Any illegal to use E-machines we come across will be seized in future Operations. Several of the officers involved are a dedicated team who tackle crime and anti- social behaviour across Berkshire East town centres.
enjoy your Sunday evening
